'Nearly Summer' 2021 Clinic Update

Updated: Aug 20, 2021

From the offices of Drs.

Fretz, Minish, Block, Farwaha and Hsu.

May is here and Summer is near!

Reminder, if you currently have any symptoms of Covid-19, stay home, and complete the BC Self-Assessment tool or call 8-1-1 to speak with a nurse regarding your symptoms. If you simply need a Covid Test, you may schedule one by calling the Covid Testing Line at 1-844-901-8442.

New Faces (or Voices)

Last month, Arbutus Family Medicine welcomed Dr. Agnes Hsu and Richelle Dzuiba, RN, to our team. We are so happy to have them join us!

If you were a patient of Dr. Martin Lane and are waiting to get on to Dr. Hsu's panel, please be patient as it is expected to take a few months before we can get through all of the patient panel registrations (PPR) handed in by his patients. Please do not call the office to check on the status of your file. Dr. Hsu will review every PPR handed in, and if she is able to accept you into her practice, one of our team members will reach out to you. Please note that there is NO wait-list and no specific order to which patients may be phoned. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

If you have been accepted into Dr. Hsu's practice and have also received a letter from Dr. Lane to say that your records have been sent to MedRecords, please note that you do not need to request these records for our office. Requests for these records are only necessary if you are transferring out of Arbutus Family Medicine and need your records sent to your new GP, outside of our office.

Have you Registered for you Covid Vaccine?

Vaccine registration is now open for those aged 12+. Drs. Fretz, Minish, Block, Farwaha and Hsu all say that the earliest vaccine is the best vaccine. Click here to find out how to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

We have heard many people have concerns regarding the AstraZeneca vaccine. If you have concerns regarding blood clots with the AstraZeneca vaccine, be aware that these are exceedingly rare. You can click here for helpful FAQ and answers from Thrombosis Canada.

Your doctors are working extremely hard to help end this pandemic - they are even taking evening and weekend shifts in the vaccine centres around town. Please do your part by continuing to follow all public health guidelines.

Need an Appointment?

We encourage you to book your telephone appointment online at https://www.arbutusfamilymedicine.ca/
