Welcome Dr. Slater!

Many of you may have met Dr. Slater already -- a local Victoria-native who completed his medical training in Alberta. He has been locuming in our practice for some time and we are all so happy to have him join us permanently on a part-time basis. Dr. Slater will be taking over some of Dr. Block’s practice as well as eventually sharing the rest of her panel.

Locums

Please be aware that we will sometimes have locums (a physician that covers your family doctor when they aren’t able to work) in the office. The locum physicians are fully trained and well experienced. We trust them to take care of our patients when we are not able to. Please remember your doctor sometimes needs a break, and if the locum schedules are unfilled or they are treated poorly by patients they won’t come back! If they don’t come back your physician can’t ever have a break, burns out and may quit or cut back hours resulting in loss of your family doctor!

Masks now optional, but recommended

As of April 6, 2023, masks are no longer mandatory in our clinic. Please keep in mind, however, that we care for many sick, vulnerable, or immunocompromised people in our community. If you are feeling unwell, we encourage you to wear a mask. For more information, please read the Ministry of Health's news release.
