Welcome Dr. David Kim!
We are excited to introduce you all to our newest physician: Dr. David Kim, who originally hails from Calgary and completed his medical training at the University of Alberta. Dr. Kim is very excited to join the AFM team and to start his career here in beautiful Victoria.
NO MORE New Patient Registration Questionnaires
Thank you all for being calm, patient and kind while awaiting pick-up of the new patient registration questionnaires for your family members. Over 3000 people read our last newsletter within the first 24 hours and over 1000 registration packets were passed out in just 3 days. We appreciate that the demand for a family physician is very high at this time and that there are thousands of people in our community who need care. At this point, we need to PAUSE the registrations in order to give Dr. Kim and our staff time to process them, hence NO MORE registrations will be available for now.
As a reminder, this will NOT be a first-come, first-serve process. Requests will be managed according to a number of factors, including medical need and practice composition. There is no urgent rush to bring the completed forms into the office as patients will be accepted on a rolling basis, over the span of 12+ months. Patients will not be discriminated against on the grounds of age, gender, marital status, medical condition, national or ethnic origin, physical or mental disability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.
When we are able to recruit another physician, the new patient registration process will open again and we will let you know as soon as that happens.
