Protest Closure 2022 Clinic Update

From the offices of Drs.

Fretz, Minish, Block, Farwaha, Hsu and Rounis.

As Family doctors, our #1 priority is your care and the care of your family. Unfortunately, we need to take a step back and ensure that our clinic model is sustainable. That’s why we have decided to close our practice on May 19th and join our colleagues to rally for change.

As you may know, nearly 1 million people in BC do not have access to primary care. Although there are many reasons for this, they all boil down to a lack of physicians, who don’t want to work for inequitable pay.

Arbutus Family Medicine is one of the clinics that is at risk of closing if a solution is not found rapidly - that means you are at risk of losing access to your family doctor.

May 19th is Family Doctors’ Day. Arbutus Family Medicine will be CLOSED. We invite you to join us at the Legislature to advocate for change in Family Medicine.

If you are unable to attend the rally with us on May 19th, help us by checking out the BCHealthCareMatters Campaign, signing the petition, and writing a letter to your MLA.
