Fall 2021 Clinic Update

From the offices of Drs.

Fretz, Minish, Block, Farwaha and Hsu.

Welcome Dr. Anna Rounis!

Originally from Surrey, BC, Dr. Rounis attended medical school in Chicago, Illinois and completed her Family Medicine Residency training here in Victoria in 2018. She will be joining our group as Dr. Fretz transitions to part-time practice. If you are a patient of Dr. Fretz, please feel free to schedule your next follow-up appointment with Dr. Rounis!

Covid Update

Thank you to all of you for getting your vaccines in order to keep everyone safe and do your part to reduce the spread of covid. We are proud to say that 100% of Arbutus Family Medicine physicians and staff are vaccinated.

Please continue to wear a mask when visiting our clinic. Do not enter the clinic if you have any cold-like symptoms without discussing with a staff member first. We will offer you a medical mask at your visit if you do not have one. If you have symptoms of Covid-19 and need to be tested, first use the BC Self-Assessment Tool, and then call 1-844-901-8442 to schedule a test.

Flu Season is Coming

Last year, because we were all isolated, masked, continually hand-washing, and socially distancing, there was virtually no Flu in BC! BUT the flu shot may be more important than ever this year. We anticipate that with things opening up and seeing more love-ones, Influenza and many other respiratory viruses will resurface this year, and any illness makes us more vulnerable to covid complications. Arbutus Family Medicine will be holding two FLU CLINICS by appointment ONLY - Friday, November 5, 8:30am-12:30pm and Friday, November 12, 8:30am - 12:30pm. Please call the office and one of our staff members can help you schedule an appointment.

Note: The flu clinic is for patients of Arbutus Family Medicine, if you have others at home looking to get their flu vaccine please direct them to one of the flu clinics held at multiple pharmacies, or with your local health unit. We have a limited supply of the flu vaccine, and recommend that if you have the opportunity to get a flu shot from your pharmacy, please take it!

Covid goes on and on...

We know many people are struggling with mood and anxiety concerns because of the impact of the pandemic. You are not alone, and we invite you to reach out and make an appointment to talk to your physician about your struggles if you need help.
